Görlitz is a town allll the way on the Eastern border of Germany. In fact, you can literally walk across a bridge and be in Poland. I knew about this town because of Wes Anderson's latest film The Grand Budapest Hotel which they filmed a lot of here and the whole cast even stayed in one of the hotels in the pictures below (Hotel Börse) while they were making the motion picture. While I had fun searching for locations from the movie throughout the day, which were very exciting to find, I also just really enjoyed this small town on its own too. It was something very different, beautiful, colorful, and unique. I was only there for a day, which I felt was enough, but it was still one of my favorites in Europe. I can see why Wes chose it for the film. It has a charm that just sticks with you.
