Town number two on the Italy trip was Florence. I had heard a fair amount it, but didn't know quite what to expect. The most impressive part for me was the view from the top of the Duomo Cathedral there, where this hot air balloon randomly came floating in for a surreal moment and photograph. The second best was the Ponte Vecchio, the bridge with all the shops actually on it (I found it more intriguing at night actually when the shops weren't open and it was just very moody lighting, contrasted with the rain as well).
